The Reprehensible Sunday School Class of Darrin Smith. Or, simply, the Reprehensible Darrin Smith, teacher of adults at SBT.

Sunday, May 28, Smith told the class his family’s dog, that died at age 18, had certainly gone to HELL. His reasoning for this, he said, was that the dog had to be fed for 18 years, and if they had known it was going to live that long, they would never have gotten it. One thinks about the unconditional love a dog, or any pet, has for its owners. Created by the Holy Spirit, it never asks for anything except to be near its human. Yet Darrin Smith gave a Baptist Sunday School lesson on how to hate an innocent dog, and declared he resented the fact it lived so long. The he proclaimed under the Word of God, Genesis Chapter 9, that he hoped his dog Buddy had gone to HELL, for precisely that reason. This heinous aberration of the Holy Spirit’s authorship was received with loud guffaws by the class. They should be reminded that some Baptists end up in HELL.

Smith also used the same chapter, which includes God’s covenant following the Flood, for an additional animal cruelty application. He recollected how his dad had once killed a steer for food. In great detail, he described the shooting of this animal with a gun, three times, in vain attempt to get it to die, so he could eat. Since that didn’t work, and the steer was suffering because of it, Smith himself retrieved a different weapon and shot the animal the fourth time. This is the SBT interpretation of God replenishing the earth.

A snotty woman in the class, also named Smith, echoed dog-hating Darrin’s proclamation that their Creator should sentence dogs to HELL. She laughed loudest and longest at the thought that dogs might be sent there by their Lord simply because she doesn’t like them. Each Sunday this detestable woman and her husband Steve, relate to the class the severe trouble their son causes while “serving” in the Army, and how he is frequently detained by the Military Police. Having been raised within this odious woman’s environment, it comes as no surprise.

Of course, this being Genesis 9, the avowed tree-hater (he mentioned that, as well), salivated on the infamous sixth verse. Smith and others in the class condemned other humans made in God’s likeness, to the death penalty without consideration of their innocence, or that Smith, et al, are not God. He spent several of the fifteen minutes he allotted to bible “study” demanding that all convicted should be killed immediately. Smith would usurp God’s role in human life by denying an individual the Lord’s plan for his/her life, and negate their guiltlessness in the event of human error. The sixth verse, so maligned and misappropriated, is fodder for black hearts like Smith, who apparently will not accept that its meaning is indicative, not imperative, and should be considered a proverb, not a command. To kill another human being, for any reason, makes that killer a murderer; so who will kill the executioner?

Smith wrapped up his astoundingly confounding exegesis of Genesis 9, a mass of contradictions and usurpations, with a reference to God’s covenantal rainbow, His visual promise that he would never again destroy every living creature of every kind on Earth. There’s no need to, God, Darrin Smith and SBT will be glad to do it for You.

The five star review below is from the associate pastor. What does that tell you.?
