If I could give this "church" zero stars, I would. I attended this church for over 2 years, all the while knowing something was off about the place and leadership. The church is run like a monarchy. Pastor Bill has no accountability to anyone in the church. If you even question him, you will be screamed at and attacked. This place is a cult where you worship the pastor, not a church where you worship the Lord.

  • My wife and I (Jessica Robinson) are still at the Church of Acts. BEEN HERE FOR 15 YEARS! We are currently having a class for Elders, and we have bible studies in homes accross the city. So....def some error being spread. Pastor Bill ALWAYS has a razor sharp WORD.!! God is doing great things! I'm excited for the current season and what God is doing in my life.GREAT PLACE TO GROW IN THE LORD!

I have debated for nearly three years now to share my experience while attending the COA. My faith and spiritual foundation was made steadfast under the leadership of this church: youth leaders, ministry workers, and by the pastor. I received counseling and much guidance all through high school. However, after I graduated high school I felt a severe uneasiness and restlessness in my spirit. I couldn't put my finger to it, and I deliberately pushed it away for two years until I couldn't no longer face it anymore. My church that I adored and worshiped the Lord at was DYING. Not because of gossip, slander, or by the work of the devil, but by the direct head of the church. I saw a man that I revered and looked up to manipulate, use, abuse and LIE to so so many people it was impossible to ignore. I visited other churches to experience what other spirit filled churches were like and it was NIGHT AND DAY difference. I saw a healthy body of Christ that was prospering in the spirit. COA was so focused on money and beating you up with the "gospel" that I would nearly always leave church feeling far worse than when I did when walked through the doors. The energy and palpable stale atmosphere is beyond obvious to people who look to God first, their Bible second, and then their spiritual leader. Pastor Bill is nearly regarded to as a "god" at this church. No one questions what he says, does or even DARES to ask questions or wants answers as to why this church all but fell apart at the seams. The devastation that has gone on in this congregation and through the entire church body is NOT NORMAL. It it NOT healthy and the people that still attend this establishment are not the remnant of a spiritual wildfire that sometimes weeds out a congregation. If that were the case in this situation, once the ashes settle there is supposed to be great GROWTH in the church in members and those lives who attend. There is 50- adults left at the COA. The pastor has abandoned his post here because the truth has manifested itself in what his theology and heart are truly for. It breaks my heart to even type this. I wish that I didn't feel the need to. I was a former youth leader here and some of my fondest memories are contained within the four walls of this establishment. I am grateful for the seeds that where sewn here! I am already reaping a harvest from the time I invested here.
I urge all those who have never truly dealt with the time, years, tears, energy, money, and talent that was invested here and the regret, or the resentment towards God and churches all together, to open your hard hearts and allow God to heal you. Your experience here will be used for God and by God for HIS good! It wasn't all for nothing! Allow your heart to heal and be brave enough to allow God to plant you in fertile, healthy, non hostile soil in a local church in our city.

  • I have been attending this church for 16 years. I have met my husband here and we are raising our daughters here. I have grown so much in my years here under the preaching of Pastor Bill Jenkins. He has always been able to break the word of God down in such way it makes it easy to understand. But it is never watered down. You will hear the very truth of the Word of God. Sometimes it hurts, but the word of God is like a two edged sword. I have always been encouraged to pursuit God with everything I have and have been blessed because of it. I am very thankful for this church.
